We’re absolutely overjoyed to share that Ready Generations Nursery in Belong has been awarded UK Nursery of the Year by the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA)!

Award winners were revealed during a glitzy ceremony at the Titantic Hotel Liverpool on June 6th. The fantastic evening commenced with a drinks reception and dinner followed by the awards ceremony and, of course, the opportunity to party and celebrate.

The Nursery received the coveted award for its outstanding early years provision, work with the wider community and phenomenal commitment to intergenerational care and experiences. Judges also commended the Nursery on its staff development programmes and research work with universities to stay at the forefront of educational innovation.

Run by the Liverpool charity Ready Generations, the Nursery is located in the Belong Care Village on City Road Chester and works closely with the care team at Belong. Over the last year, the charity’s intergenerational work has spread to 14 more care settings and linked nurseries across the Chester area as part of a creative health partnership with local third sector organisations, Healthbox CIC, Live the Beat and Live!Cheshire.

The Nursery feels extremely grateful to have received many kind messages of congratulations from grand-friends, families, community, other early years providers and schools across the UK.

Manager Ruth Sandbach said “I am extremely proud of the Nursery we have built as a community of children, families, carers, educators, researchers and of course our amazing grand-friends! Without the support of everyone we would not have been able to achieve so much!”

She went on to say “the approach of our charity Ready Generations, is very simple. We put people first!  However complex their needs there is always a way to make sure they can be included and feel a sense of connection and belonging to a caring community. We prioritise listening, life-long learning and just getting things done! We don’t hang around, we have a go!”
