What We Do
The charity’s vision is to make a difference to lifelong learning and care by becoming a leading provider of intergenerational practice and provision, and a leading edge active research and professional development organisation for intergenerational services.

We Believe In
encouraging connections between people of all ages and that intergenerational relationships connect and unite families, making them stronger and more resilient.
Connection:
Prioritising relationships and intergenerational approaches strengthens communities and promotes shared human values.
Equity:
Inclusive policies and practices unlock everyone’s potential by uniting generations and rejecting discrimination.
We bring together a team of highly experienced early years and social policy leaders. It blends international expertise in early years practice, policy and influence, as well as practical, validated and ongoing intergenerational research and learning. Individual members also have a proven track record in operating high quality early years environments, rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
We operate direct childcare services to nursery children and their families, alongside shared, integrated and meaningful learning and enrichment activities for older adults and children, learning and living together.
A further dimension of Ready Generations’ work includes advocacy, advice and information to other intergenerational providers and professional development to the care and education sectors. This work is underpinned by direct national and international research, evaluation and the dissemination of evidence-based practice, through partnerships with specifically selected and world renowned universities.

Founders
Meet Liz & Sue
Sue Egersdorff and Liz Ludden are the passionate co‑founders behind Ready Generations, a UK charity pioneering intergenerational learning by bringing children and older adults together in shared spaces.
United by a vision to bridge age divides, both have dedicated their careers to improving outcomes for children and families, with Sue leading national programmes like SureStart and Liz owning and managing successful early years settings. Their professional paths first crossed through a shared passion for high-quality, inclusive education, and they quickly discovered a mutual interest in intergenerational practice. Together, they co-founded Ready Generations, drawing on their complementary skills. Sue’s strategic vision and policy experience, and Liz’s hands-on leadership in early childhood settings -to create innovative environments where young children and older adults can learn, grow, and thrive together.
